Energy

Sweden – FlagshipONE, Sweden’s first e-fueling facility, is under construction. The first large-scale e-fuel facility in Europe will break ground at Örnsköldsviks kommun on May 24, 2023.

A special ceremony will be hosted by Ørsted, who fully acquired FlagshipONE in December 2022, in collaboration with the project’s developer Liquid Wind and site host Övik Energi AB.

FlagshipONE

FlagshipONE, the largest FID-certified green e-methanol facility in Europe, is situated in the northern Swedish town of Örnsköldsviks. A final investment decision (FID) was reached by Ørsted in December on the FlagshipONE e-methanol project, which will produce 50,000 tonnes of e-methanol annually.

In 2025, FlagshipONE is anticipated to start operating. In Sweden, FlagshipONE is a pioneering project in both green shipping and the upcoming wave of renewable energy initiatives.
