Essar chooses BELCO tech for carbon capture at Stanlow refinery

United Kingdom – Essar Oil UK Limited’s recent selection of Belco Technologies Corporation (BELCO) as a key partner in the EET Industrial Carbon Capture Plant at the Stanlow refinery is a significant move towards achieving substantial reductions in carbon emissions.

Essar’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions by 95% by 2030 aligns with the global push for sustainability and combating climate change.

BELCO’s gas cleaning system not only addresses Essar’s carbon capture requirements but also contributes to a more efficient and space-effective solution. The system seamlessly integrates technologies for sulfur oxides (SOx) and particulate matter abatement, meeting stringent standards set by carbon capture providers.

BELCO’s range of gas cleaning technologies, including the BELCO wet scrubber, Shell third stage separator (TSS), and NOx reduction technologies, positions them as leaders in emissions control. The wet scrubbing technology is noted for its global standard in controlling flue gas emissions, making it a preferred choice for industries worldwide.

Essar and Elessent’s collaboration goes beyond industry standards; it represents a commitment to environmental stewardship. The integration of BELCO’s technologies into the Stanlow refinery marks a significant stride in the transition towards a more sustainable and eco-conscious future.
