Belgium – Belgium and Norway have signed a letter of intent to enable the transport of CO2 between the two countries. This initiative opens the door for companies to start projects and conclude contracts related to Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS).
The agreement between Belgium and Norway allows companies to capture CO2 and transport it to locations where it can be stored or used for other purposes, such as industrial processes.
This is particularly good news for Fluxys C-grid, which plans to develop an open access CO2 pipeline network in Belgium. This letter of intent provides new opportunities for the further development of that infrastructure. The shareholders of Fluxys C-grid, in addition to the grid operator Fluxys, are Pipelink, Socofé and SFPIM.
The cooperation between Belgium and Norway underlines the importance of international cooperation in this field. Through joint efforts, countries can work more efficiently and effectively to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development.
