Vattenfall’s Swedish wind project receives green light

Renewables

Sweden – Vattenfall has secured the final environmental permit approval for its Norrbäck and Pauträsk wind projects, collectively constituting Vattenfall’s largest land-based wind power endeavor.

The Norrbäck and Pauträsk wind projects, with their potential to host up to 111 wind turbines and generate a maximum output of 530 MW, aim to provide electricity for approximately 300,000 households. With an anticipated annual production of 2 TWh, these projects represent a substantial contribution to Vattenfall’s mission of transitioning towards fossil-free energy production.

Harnessing wind power

Equipped with turbines reaching heights of up to 200 meters, the Norrbäck and Pauträsk wind projects leverage wind power technology to harness the region’s abundant natural resources. This technology not only maximizes energy output but also underscores Vattenfall’s commitment to innovation in renewable energy solutions.

The strategic location of the Norrbäck and Pauträsk wind farms in Lycksele, Vilhelmina, and Storuman municipalities enhances Vattenfall’s ability to meet the escalating demand for clean energy in northern Sweden.
