‘Connecting Clusters’ at EIES23 explores the future of European industrial clusters

Infrastructure Summit

On December 7th and 8th, the main stage of EIES23 in Antwerp will offer the inspiring side event ‘Connecting Clusters.’ This initiative offers an in-depth look at the crucial role of industrial clusters in Europe amidst the pressing climate change and economic challenges.

This gathering will bring together strategic partners, ranging from port companies, transport companies and asset owners to digital experts, to explore how the industrial sector can adapt to shifting energy and environmental landscapes. The aim is to ensure a sustainable and resilient future for European industry.

The program includes TEDx-style talks and interactive talk shows thematically grouped around four critical issues:

  1. Learning from each other: What innovative choices are industrial clusters making to become more sustainable and strengthen their position?
  2. Geographical collaboration: How can clusters reinforce each other by considering broader geographical connections and importing new raw materials?
  3. Infrastructure opportunities: What infrastructure already connects clusters, and how can logistical connections bolster the European industry?
  4. Data and digitalization: What role do data analysis, AI, and digitalization play in finding optimal solutions at the cluster and meta-cluster levels?
