Germany Industrial services provider Bilfinger has completed the previously announced acquisition of parts of Stork in the Netherlands and Belgium from Fluor. European authorities have approved the transaction and social partners in the Netherlands have given a positive opinion on the transaction. Stork will be fully integrated into the Bilfinger Group within a year.

The transaction, which was announced in September 2023, includes the business units in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, with a total of more than 2,700 employees and sales of about €530 million. The acquisition of the smaller U.S. branch (with about €20 million in sales) is still subject to approval by non-EU regulators.

The acquisition is in line with Bilfinger’s strategy to strengthen its core business in a market where the Group is already well positioned. In particular, the transaction expands its offering in the areas of maintenance services, automation and mechanical services in the Netherlands and Belgium. By integrating these services into Bilfinger’s existing offering, customers will have access to the full range of solutions from one party to increase efficiency and sustainability. This enables Bilfinger to reduce the number of interfaces for customers.
