Technip Energies and Versalis integrate plastic waste recycling tech

Chemcycling

France/Italy – Technip Energies and Versalis, Eni’s chemical company, have inked an agreement to integrate Versalis’ Hoop and Technip Energies’ Pure.rOilTM and Pure.rGasTM purification technologies by building a technical platform for enhanced chemical recycling of plastic waste.

In order to produce fresh virgin polymers that are identical to polymers made from fossil raw materials and are suited for all uses, this research seeks to establish a theoretically limitless plastic recycling loop.

Versalis will contribute their Hoop technology, a pyrolysis method that allows for the recovery of mixed plastic waste with great performance in terms of yield, recovery, and adaptability in managing various types of feedstocks.

Circular economy

With more than 700 steam crackers operating worldwide under its own license, Technip Energies will contribute its expertise in designing ethylene furnaces and steam crackers as well as the preparation and its proprietary purification technologies, Pure.rGasTM and Pure.rOilTM, which guarantee safe, dependable, and optimal integration with both old and new crackers.

Versalis and T.EN’s combined technology will assist a circular economy by lowering carbon emissions across the whole polymer value chain.
