NextChem in FEED for advanced mechanical recycling plant in Europe

Circular economy

Italy – A market leader in plastics and chemicals has given Maire Tecnimont’s subsidiary NextChem a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for an advanced mechanical recycling facility of municipal plastic waste in Europe.

The project’s objective is to build an advanced mechanical recycling facility for polyolefins that will produce goods made of up to 100% post-consumer recycled materials (PCR). The facility will have a maximum annual waste processing capacity of 75,000 tons.

FEED completion by 2023

The Front-End Engineering Design will be NextChem’s responsibility, and the company will also help the client with the creation of the execution phase. By the middle of 2023, the FEED should be finished. The facility will rank among the world’s biggest for advanced mechanical recycling when it is finished.
