SHV to sell Mammoet and ERIKS

Sustainable energy

The Netherlands – SHV intends to sell Mammoet, an expert in heavy lifting and ERIKS, an industry service provider.

Eriks operates in 15 nations as a service provider for the sector. The company has 5,000 or so employees. In 2009, the 80-year-old Dutch business joined SHV. Mammoet is an expert in heavy lifting and difficult lifting tasks. In 2011, SHV had complete ownership of Mammoet.

In the Netherlands, a number of significant coal trading enterprises merged to form SHV in 1896. SHV has diversified its business since the middle of the 20th century, when the coal trade began to decrease. Eriks and Mammoet have a future outside the SHV group, the business says in the strategy update that has just been presented. The two businesses will have more room to expand under a new owner.

Dimeta

Future efforts by SHV will concentrate more on the creation of sustainable fuels. For instance, it collaborates with UGI International to produce sustainable dimethyl ether through the joint venture called Dimeta (DME). The company plans to produce 300,000 tonnes of DME at facilities in the UK, US, and Europe by the end of 2027. The corporation would invest almost one billion euros in this overall.
