Kuehne+Nagel and Novo Nordisk advance SAF development

Sustainable energy

Germany – Kuehne+Nagel and Novo Nordisk collaborate to advance the development of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Novo Nordisk will be able to completely replace fossil fuel for all Kuehne+Nagel air freight shipments in 2022 with the deployment of 12 million liters of SAF.

In order to lessen the impact of their air freight shipments on the environment in 2022, Novo Nordisk selected the Kuehne+Nagel sustainable fuel solution. For all Novo Nordisk air freight, using 12 million liters of Kuehne+Nagel SAF prevents the direct emission of over 30,000 tonnes of CO2.

Low-carbon shipping

Such dedication highlights the rising need for low-carbon shipping choices, which encourages an expansion in the development, production, and use of SAF.

Kuehne+Nagel has set ambitious environmental targets in moving to a low carbon company model by joining the Science Based Targets project. To accomplish this, the business lowers its own carbon emissions and helps its clients make the change.
