Chief Operating Officer Asset Management Holger Kreetz is one of the key notes at the opening of the European Industry & Industry Summit 2021 (December 7th, Rotterdam Ahoy). Recently Uniper announced an agreement for developing the production of green hydrogen at the Uniper Location on Maasvlakte, Rotterdam.
Energy company Uniper and the Port of Rotterdam Authority recentrly entered into an agreement for developing the production of green hydrogen at the Uniper location on Maasvlakte. These plans build on the findings of a recent feasibility study and are in line with the new hydrogen infrastructure that has been planned and the growing demand for sustainable hydrogen from the Rotterdam petrochemical industry.
The recently completed joint feasibility study shows that the Uniper location on Maasvlakte is ideally suitable for large-scale production of green hydrogen with the use of power generated by North Sea wind farms.
The Uniper hydrogen plant is to be connected to the HyTransport.RTM pipeline that runs through the Port of Rotterdam. The pipeline also connects the Uniper plant to the national hydrogen infrastructure and the Delta Corridor pipeline bundle. The latter project is intended for delivering hydrogen to chemical clusters in Moerdijk and Geleen (Chemelot) and farther away in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Holger Kreetz
After his Engineering PhD in Australia, Holger Kreetz joined E.ON in 2001 and worked in different mostly generation and business development related leadership roles since. From 2011 he was made responsible for E.ON’s market entry into Turkey and from 2013 to 2016 Holger served as Enerjisa’s COO (Turkey’s largest energy company). Since 2016 Holger leads Uniper’s Asset Management function, taking life-cycle responsibility for Uniper’s European generation fleet (27 GW) and leading Uniper’s transformation through asset growth and innovation. Under his lead a hydrogen business line is being established.
