United Kingdom – The Hallen Battery Energy Storage Scheme (BESS) project, a 32 megawatt/32 megawatthour storage plant near Bristol in the Avonmouth region, has been commissioned by Voltalia.
Hallen BESS is a lithium-ion battery storage facility with 16 modules, each with a capacity of 2 megawatthours. It is located in Avonmouth, near Bristol. The Hallen plant will provide frequency management, balancing, and other ancillary services to the UK grid, both locally and nationally.
Voltalia strengthens its position in the United Kingdom by leveraging its storage expertise, which it gained in French Guiana with the Toco complex, the country’s largest battery storage system in operation.
