United StatesFlexGen Power Systems has been selected to provide energy storage technology and software for one of the largest energy storage programs in the Nation’s history.

For the project, Southern California Edison (SCE) hired Ameresco to provide their best-in-class energy storage technology, HybridOS energy management system platform, and equipment. On-demand energy from three SCE substations is designed to increase grid reliability and reduce the grid’s dependence upon natural gas power plants as California transitions toward a clean energy future.

With an aggressive timeline set by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s emergency proclamation to bring clean and resilient energy resources online in order to ensure the reliability and sufficiency of resources for the California grid, the SCE projects are scheduled to be completed in Summer 2022.
