Renewables

Sweden – Long-time customer SR Energy AB has placed a 93 MW agreement with Vestas to supply electricity to the Swedish Älgkullen wind project.

The total number of V162-6.2 MW wind turbines in the order is 15, with a 119-meter hub height.

The order also includes a 35-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement to guarantee the asset’s optimal performance in addition to the procurement, installation, and commissioning of the turbines.

Delivery of the turbines will start in the second quarter of 2024, and commissioning will follow in the fourth.

Project Älgkullen

Project Älgkullen is situated in the municipality of Smedjebacken, southeast of the town of Hällsjön. The region is a kilometer or so from Ludvika municipality and borders Ljusnarsberg municipality and rebro county. In June 2014, the county administration board and municipalities were consulted.

The application for the license was made in May 2015, and on August 24, 2018, Vindpark Älgkullen’s license became enforceable. Construction is expected to begin in 2022 after wind readings in the area.
