Vestas to install wind turbines for Iberdrola in Poland

Renewables

Poland Vestas has been awarded a new contract by Iberdrola for the supply and installation of wind turbines at the Korytnica II wind farm in Poland.

The 50.4 megawatt (MW) project will be built in the Mazowieckie province, northeast of Warsaw, and will include 14 V126-3.45 MW wind turbines with a 3.6 MW capacity. CJR Renewables, a civil engineering firm that built Korytnica I in 2015, will be in charge of construction.

Work is expected to begin before the end of the year, with wind turbine deliveries beginning in the fourth quarter of 2022. Vestas will manage the facility’s upkeep as part of a long-term framework agreement. The production of Korytnica 2 will be sold through a PPA with the help of a contract for difference (CfD) won in Poland’s fourth auction in June 2021.

Iberdrola’s onshore wind capacity in Poland will reach 163 MW when Korytnica II is completed in early 2023, adding to the already operational Korytnica I and Zopowy wind farms.
