RWE expands renewables in Germany

Renewables

Germany RWE is expanding renewables while also expanding recruitment, advertising around 200 new jobs for developing wind and solar farms.

The company is currently constructing five wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 29 MW to supplement its existing 16-turbine Bartelsdorf wind farm in the Lower Saxony district of Rotenburg (Wümme). Two of the new turbines will be handed over to a local citizens’ cooperative, while RWE will operate three turbines with an installed capacity of 17 MW. This demonstrates the company’s strong relationship with the local community. Construction is set to begin in the summer of 2022. In addition, construction on the Evendorf wind farm (12 MW) in the Lower Saxony district of Harburg will begin in the new year. When completed, the two wind farms will be able to provide green energy to over 19,000 households.

RWE is opening seven new offices to work on projects involving onshore wind and ground-mounted photovoltaic systems. The new offices will be in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Mainz, the Heilbronn/Stuttgart and Augsburg/Munich metropolitan areas, as well as Leipzig and Rostock.
