Luxembourg – The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved €688 million to accelerate the harness of renewable energy across Europe.

The Board approved funding from the EIB for renewable energy to help drive the energy transformation and increase the production of wind and solar energy.

Poland, Greece, Spain

This includes funding for the development of 11 wind farms across Poland, which are projected to produce 380 MW, three solar power plants in Greece providing 230 MW and seven solar power projects in Spain providing 253 MW.

Two other schemes will increase spending in onshore wind and solar power projects across Europe and have streamlined funding for small-scale energy efficient schemes.
