Dutch authorities to open tenders for Hollandse Kust (west)

The Netherlands – Tenders for the development of the Hollandse Kust (west) Wind Farm Zone (HKWWFZ), located 53 kilometres off the Dutch coast, will be issued by the Dutch government.

The HKWWFZ has designated two wind farm sites: Site VI and VII. Within the wind farm sites zone, there is a total surface area of 176 km2. There will be 1,400 MW of offshore wind power generated in the Hollandse Kust (west) wind farm zone when it is completed. TenneT, the operator of the transmission system, plans to build two offshore platforms with two grid connections.

Tenders opening

Hollandse Kust (west) (HKW) wind farm Sites VI and VII will be put out to tender, according to a letter sent to Parliament in October 2021. It was revealed in this letter that there would be two comparative evaluations, each with a monetary bid.

The Ministerial Orders for sites VI and VII of the Hollandse Kust (west) Wind Farm Zone were published on 9 March 2022 by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. Tenders for both locations will be accepted beginning on April 14th, 2022, and will be due on May 12th, 2022. After the summer of 2022, the winners will be announced.
