BEIS approves East Anglia ONE and TWO offshore wind farms

United Kingdom – The applications for the East Anglia ONE North and East Anglia TWO offshore wind farms have been granted development consent by the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

It was proposed that the East Anglia ONE North offshore wind farm, which would be 36 kilometres from Lowestoft and 42 kilometres from Southwold and include up to 67 turbines and associated infrastructure, would have an installed capacity of up to 800 megawatts (MW).

Located 37 kilometers from Lowestoft and 32 kilometers from Southwold, the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm application sought to build a 900 MW offshore wind farm with 75 turbines, generators, and supporting infrastructure.

Planning applications

The applications were submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for consideration by ScottishPower Renewables on behalf of East Anglia ONE North Limited and East Anglia Two Limited on 25 October 2019 and accepted for Examination on 22 November 2019.
