All wind turbines in place at Swedish wind farm

Renewables

Sweden Vattenfall has completed the construction of its largest onshore wind farm to date. At Blakliden Fäbodberget in northern Sweden, the last of the 84 turbines has been installed.

The annual output of just over 1 billion kilowatt hours is enough to power around 220,000 Swedish households for a year.

More power for Sweden

Industry and mining are undergoing transformation and electrification in northern Sweden. Sweden’s electricity consumption is expected to double by 2045, requiring a lot more electricity. The Blakliden Fäbodberget wind farm, which produces 1.1 TWh, will play a key role in this.

Pending grid connection

Blakliden Fäbodberget has been under construction for four years, and around 800 components, including 252 rotor blades, have been transported to the wind farm, which is located in the municipalities of sele and Lycksele in Västerbotten in northern Sweden. The last turbines will be connected to the grid in the near future. The farm will open for business later this year after a trial period.

Vattenfall, Vestas, and AIP Management jointly own the Blakliden Fäbodberget wind farm.
