Germany/Taiwan – Vestas has obtained a 50 MW order from wpd AG, a German developer and operator of renewable energy projects, for three wind farms in Taiwan: Chuangwei 2, Leadway 2, and Hsinyuan.
The Hsinyuan wind farm will consist of six V136-4.2 MW turbines with 112m towers. The turbines will feature the largest onshore turbine rotors in Taiwan, maximizing electricity production in the site’s medium wind conditions. The Chuangwei 2 and Leadway 2 wind farms will be equipped with four and two V117-4.2 MW turbines, respectively, with 91.5m towers.
Total intake over 330MW
Vestas’ total onshore order intake in Taiwan will exceed 330 MW with this deal, more than 110 MW of which will be in conjunction with wdp.
The order includes a long-term service agreement for the wind farms’ Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000), which ensures optimal performance and long-term business case certainty for the customer.
Delivery will commence in the second quarter of 2022, with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of the same year.
