Denmark – Norwegian Hydrogen, in partnership with a consortium of experts, embarks on a €9 million project to establish a green hydrogen ecosystem at the Port of Hirtshals, Denmark.
The CONVEY project aims to transform the Port of Hirtshals into a model for green ports, utilizing renewable energy to produce hydrogen and oxygen while fostering circularity in the production process, thereby reducing emissions and promoting sustainability.
Led by Norwegian Hydrogen, a collaborative effort involving ten partners across various sectors seeks to establish a robust infrastructure for hydrogen production and distribution, leveraging expertise in logistics, transportation, and energy optimization to deliver tangible results in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Green port revolution
CONVEY sets out to revolutionize the Port of Hirtshals, showcasing the potential of hydrogen as a clean energy source and demonstrating the viability of green ports in reducing carbon emissions and driving economic growth.
Supported by the EU’s Horizon program, the CONVEY project aligns with the goals of the Green Deal and Hydrogen Strategy, emphasizing system integration, market development, and public awareness to accelerate the adoption of sustainable hydrogen solutions.
