France – Lhyfe has emerged victorious in a call for proposals issued by Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port to establish an industrial-scale green hydrogen production and distribution facility in Montoir-de-Bretagne, France.

As part of this project, Lhyfe will build an industrial unit with a production capacity of up to 85 tonnes per day of green and renewable hydrogen (installed electrolysis capacity of 210 MW) located in the north of bulk port terminal. This site should be operational by 2028.

Lhyfe’s green hydrogen production process utilizes electrolysis of water powered by renewable energy sources. This innovative technology generates clean and sustainable hydrogen without emitting harmful greenhouse gases.

Call for proposals

This call for proposals, which was launched on 21 November 2022, concerned the provision of land located at the heart of the portā€™s industrial and logistics ecosystem, in Montoir-de-Bretagne, for a project to set up an industrial renewable hydrogen production activity.

The Lhyfe project is expected to have a transformative impact on the Loire Estuary region, driving the adoption of green hydrogen as a clean energy alternative and accelerating the transition towards a low-carbon economy.
