Liquid Wind requests Swedish green electrofuel project environmental approval

CCUS Energy

Sweden – Liquid Wind has submitted an application to the Land and Environment Court in Östersund for an environmental permission for FlagshipTWO, the company’ large-scale green electrofuel project, which is located in Sundsvall, Sweden.

Once operating, FlagshipTWO will help reduce annual CO2 emissions by 283,000 tons. The plant will be operational in the start of 2026 after construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.

Korstaverket connection

In collaboration with Sundsvall Energi, FlagshipTWO will be constructed and connected to Korstaverket, a cogeneration facility for Sundsvall Energi that is situated close to Tunadal’s harbor. The biogenic portion of the CO2 captured by FlagshipTWO from Korstaverket will be used to produce electrofuel for the nautical industry.
