The Netherlands – Equans has secured a contract with Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) in the Netherlands. Over the next three years, Equans will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of all building-related installations in JDE’s offices and factories in Utrecht and Joure.
JDE sought a reliable hard service provider, and they found the ideal partner in Equans. The contract not only ensures the smooth operation of JDE’s installations but also entails support in sustainability initiatives and energy optimization.
Equans immediately embarked on assessing potential sustainability actions for JDE, aiming to identify and leverage sustainable opportunities. In addition to their technical service provider role, Equans also assumes a consultant role by actively contributing ideas. An illustrative example of this collaboration is Equans’ preliminary research into reducing gas consumption for JDE.
Intensified partnership
Equans and JDE are not new acquaintances, having previously collaborated on building-related installation maintenance. The new contract signifies an intensification of their partnership, as JDE transitions from an Integrated Facility Management (IFM) contract with contract management support to a managing agent construction with individual contracts for hard service providers, including Equans. This change will foster improved coordination and insight into JDE’s installations and processes, enhancing preventive maintenance management.
Data plays a crucial role in the collaboration between Equans and JDE. Both parties prioritize data collection and analysis through sensing technology, recognizing that measuring is essential for knowledge. Equans utilizes sensoring within JDE to gather data, enabling the creation of performance dashboards that offer insights into asset performance, details, and potential improvements. This emphasis on data is a significant aspect of the new contract between Equans and JDE.
