New plastic waste recycling partnership formed

United KingdomAbundia Global Impact Group (Abundia) has signed a licensing agreement with Alterra Energy (Alterra), a pioneer in the advanced recycling of plastics into petroleum-based goods.

Plastic waste will be recycled into useful chemical products using Alterra’s thermochemical liquefaction method and Abundia’s revolutionary upgrading technology, offering a circular solution to the treated plastic waste.

Abundia intends to begin construction on its first site in the UK mainland in the second half of 2022, with a capacity of processing up to 40.000 tons of plastic waste per year into various recycled chemicals, with a goal of increasing processing to 120.000 tons per year by 2027 through growth.
