Cyclyx develops plastic recovery facility on Gulf Coast

Circular economy

United StatesCyclyx International has developed a first-of-its-kind plastic recovery facility to process waste plastics for committed offtake associated with advanced recycling projects on the Gulf Coast.

The proposed facility’s engineering work has already begun. The facility, which is expected to open in late 2022, will process up to 60,000 metric tons of recycled plastic feedstock per year. To support advanced recycling growth, Cyclyx plans to build a network of similar facilities linked to committed offtake.

Cyclyx is designing the proposed facility to allow for the processing of waste plastic feedstock customized to meet the needs of individual customer specifications, based on its unique knowledge of plastic chemical characterizations. Cyclyx will obtain post-use mixed waste plastic for the project from a variety of existing sources, while expanding its collaboration with companies across the value chain to develop circular solutions for difficult-to-recycle plastic waste.
