Germany – Contrary to what Lanxess announced when presenting its quarterly results a year ago, the company will not sell its chromium oxide production. Lanxess will continue to produce the pigments at its Krefeld-Uerdingen site.
Chromium oxide pigments are used in energy-intensive sectors such as ceramics, refractories and as dyes. After long and intensive negotiations, the company was able to conclude a long-term raw material supply agreement.
Lanxess also sees potential improvements along the entire value chain. As a result, the framework conditions for the chromium oxide business have improved and production can continue. The plant employs 50 people.
