France – TotalEnergies has purchased a 20% investment in Ductor, a Finland-based start-up that has developed an innovative technique to process high-nitrogen organic waste for biomethane generation.
According to the rules of this joint venture, Ductor will produce the sustainable biofertilizers, while TotalEnergies will market the production of biomethane.
This technology is accelerating the growth of the biogas value chain by enabling the treatment of new types of feedstock, aiding in the energy transition. Additionally, it will allow TotalEnergies to capture fresh market chances.
Biomethane projects
In order to develop and invest in a number of biomethane production projects, especially in the United States and Europe, TotalEnergies has partnered with Ductor. A pipeline of fifteen to twenty projects, some of which are advanced, already exists at Ductor. The partners intend to build a preliminary plant in Ohio, USA.
